If you had a chance to check this event out, it was actually quite nice. Matt, being an Art Center
student himself, and I, who needed a study break, went to go see what the works of a post-grad Art Center student was like. Souther’s artwork for his “Make It Real” set, is described as reinterpreting “the world making it a mythical place of carnivals, lost cities, giant insects, dinosaurs, and a variety of other animals” and it was very interesting to see how he perceives the world. It was fun, animated and fit the description to the core; a style that is very convenient and typical to the Giant Robot crowd.
Our favorites: “Make it Real” and “Building for Ages.”
If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you can still view his works at GR2 or at the Japanese American National Museum, where his complete works will be on display until Halloween. Support your local L.A. Artists!
