If you’re Asian in some way, you probably have some kind of idea… If you are “Gaijin-esque” or infatuated with Japanese culture, you definitely know. Totoro is an animation by Hayao Miyazaki who is the creator of other popular creations such as Princess Mononoke and the Oscar winner: Spirited Away. This classic animation is the adventure of two young girls who’s mother is sick and stays in a hospital far from their home. As the young girls struggle to deal with the issue they meet Totoro and friends (Kings of the Forest) and go on an incredible adventure that helps them become closer to their family. No monsters, no villians, no fighting, just happiness.

Miyazaki’s animations are fun for the family that is cute, sad and fantastical at the same time.
