Info: The one year anniversary of the lovely and well edited, Family bookstore. There will be new original art from some amazing artists like Mike Mills, Geoff Mcfetridge, Paper Rad and more. The shin dig starts at 8pm.

I heard about Family last year when they opened, but for some reason I didn’t make it out there till last month. Tsk tsk tsk , I know. But, when I finally stepped over the threshold, I realized just to what extent of an idiot I was for putting it off. My god, what a collection. The shop was dimly lit and there was loud music playing and the shopkeeper was on his cell phone, which under normal circumstances might have bothered me. However, the well edited assortment of interesting zines, gorgeous hardcovers, handmade mixtape masterpieces and art on the walls, just about absorbed every bit of my attention, rendering the rest of the noise obsolete. If you haven’t yet, GO. Its wonderful.
